DANAI operates under a strict Code of Conduct. All Members are registered nurses with a valid NMBI number. They must agree to and sign the Code of Conduct as stated in the Membership Application process.
Members of DANAI agree to:
- We practice to specialist standards as specialist medical aesthetic nurses.
- We help members understand their professional responsibilities in caring for patients in a safe, ethical and effective way.
- The purpose of the Code is to guide nurses in their day-to-day practice.
- Patients have a right to receive quality care by competent nurses who practice in a safe environment.
- Competency is the legal test for nurses in Ireland. We have a registered specialist framework, competencies and pathway we adhere to.
- DANAI works for nurses rights to work within their scope of practice.
By laying down these standards we ensure that each member adheres to them to develop and maintain a high level of patient safety. We document our progress and lobby the Irish Government and medicine board to recognise that nurses should be allowed a higher degree of autonomy whilst working within their scope of practice.
