DANAI is the representative association for NMBI registered nurses practising in dermatology and aesthetics in Ireland. It was founded over 20 years ago by a small group of nurses who identified the need for specific standards in patient safety, to gain clear guidance while working to NMBI guidelines, and to support quality nurses working in the field of dermatology and medical aesthetics.The role of DANAI is to prioritise patient safety and advocate for high-quality education in the Dermatology Aesthetic industry.

I have been a member of the DANAI group for 7 years. I was doing Aesthetics in Ireland solo after training in the UK. The group is very supportive as we have a whatsapp group and no question is too silly. Someone will always answer. We meet up twice a year and network and soak up all the free training on the day. Save Face and other groups come to chat with us and give us the lowdown on what's happening in other countries. The glass of wine after also helps getting to know people. Being part of a Dermatology and Aesthetics group is the only way to go forward in my view. Strength in numbers.

Being new to the aesthetic industry and having set up my own business, one of the first things I did was joining DANAI. I've been a nurse for 12 years and know how important support and guidance is from your peers and I felt by joining DANAI I would get this, which I am grateful to say has been the case.
